  • Resident of Cranbrook for 24 years.
  • Married to Audrey for 36 years.  She is a teacher, an educational assistant, and a musician.
  • Three children and one grandchild.
  • Lived in Vancouver, Winnipeg, and many smaller towns and cities in BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario – a great way to collect ideas on what makes a good community!
  • Bachelor of Science in Ecology (minor in Economics); Teaching Certificate; Masters of Natural Resource Management (completed 6 courses); Certificate in Foundations of Tourism Management;
  • Training and Experience in Leadership, Financial Management, Media Relations, Project Management, Public Relations, Marketing.

  • Regional Manager – Kootenays – BC Ministry of Environment.
  • Responsible for Provincial Parks, Fish and Wildlife, and Ecosystems.
  • Managed up to 65 staff and multi-million dollar annual budgets.
  • Manager – East Kootenay Conservation Program – Non-profit organization.
  • Co-chair Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program – Columbia Basin.
  • Provincial Authority Member – Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area.
  • Manager of Visitor Services – BC Parks – Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island Regions
  • Assistant Chief of Interpretation – Manitoba Parks Branch
  • Recognized with a Premier’s Award (Creating Partnerships) for leading a million dollar fundraising campaign with the Trudeau family.
